The DOL rule reversal is also in line with what pension plan participants want, according to Schroders’ 2022 US Retirement Survey. Seventy-four percent of defined contribution pension beneficiaries who lack or don’t know if they have ESG options in their plan said they ‘might’ or ‘would’ increase their contribution rate if offered ESG options. Further, of the 31% of 401k plan participants that knew their plan offered ESG options, nine out of ten were invested in those options.
